About CityFluent
CityFluent is an independent travel site run from Korea. We help visitors get around confidently: from the airport to the hotel, paying, taking taxis and the subway, ordering food, and choosing where to stay. We started with Korea, where we live, and plan to add other destinations only when we can cover them to the same standard.
What makes this site different
Most travel guides focus on what to see. We focus on the small practical problems that cost visitors time and money: which transit card to buy, what to do when you land after the last train, how to explain a food allergy, or why your taxi driver doesn't recognise an address. Alongside the guides, the free Travel Kit turns that advice into helpers that work on your phone, such as a taxi card in Korean, a food and allergy card, and a calendar that shows which sights are closed on your dates.
How we check facts
- Official sources first. Fares, timetables, rules and opening hours come from operators and government bodies: the airport railroad, Incheon Airport, KORAIL, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Meteorological Administration and the immigration and customs services.
- Every guide is dated. Each page shows when it was last checked and lists the sources we used, so you can confirm anything important yourself.
- Regular re-checks. Each guide has a review interval, from 30 days for fast-changing topics like entry rules and visitor discounts to a year for etiquette. Pages that are due are checked first.
- We say when we're not sure. If official sources disagree or we couldn't confirm something, the page says so rather than guessing.
- Estimates are labelled. Where a Travel Kit helper relies on estimates, such as daily budgets or clothing sizes, it shows a clear notice.
What we don't do
We don't give legal, visa or medical advice. Our entry and health pages summarise official information and link to the authorities, who have the final word. We don't sell tours or bookings ourselves, and we aren't affiliated with any government, tourism organisation or transport company.
How the site is funded
CityFluent is free to use. We may show ads and earn commissions from some booking links. That never decides what we recommend, and pages with affiliate links say so at the top. Our visitor discounts page carries no affiliate links at all. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Your privacy
The Travel Kit runs entirely in your browser. Plans, food cards and other settings are saved on your own device, never on our servers. Read the privacy policy for how analytics and advertising work on this site.
