Which flights use Gimpo?

Gimpo is Seoul’s second airport, and it’s inside the city (Gangseo-gu).

• International: short routes, including Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, Shanghai Hongqiao, Beijing and Taipei Songshan.
• Domestic: Jeju, Busan and other cities.

The international and domestic terminals are separate buildings. A free shuttle bus links them every 12–20 minutes during the day, from international stop 5 to domestic stop 8. The subway station is shared.

By train and subway

Gimpo Airport Station is a hub for five lines: AREX, Line 5, Line 9, the Gimpo Goldline and the Seohae Line. Most of central Seoul is within an hour.

The quickest way to Seoul Station and Hongdae.

It takes about 23 minutes to Seoul Station. The AREX express train runs only between Incheon Airport and Seoul Station and doesn’t stop at Gimpo.

Line 9

Line 9 goes east through Yeouido and along the south of the river to Gangnam (Sinnonhyeon and beyond). It has express trains that skip smaller stations, so wait for one marked “Express” (급행) if you’re going far.

Line 5

Line 5 runs into the old center: Gwanghwamun (for Gyeongbokgung), Jongno 3-ga and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park.

By taxi

Taxi stands are outside Exit 3 of the international terminal (1st floor) and in front of Exit 6 of the domestic terminal.

Expect more in traffic, and 20–40% more between 10 pm and 4 am. More in taking taxis in Korea. Show the driver your hotel in Korean with the taxi card.

By bus

Few airport limousine buses serve central Seoul from Gimpo. The subway is usually faster.

• 6707A: runs between Gimpo and Incheon Airport.
• 6101: goes from the domestic terminal to the northeast of Seoul (Suraksan and Nowon).

Tourist information

There’s a tourist information center at Gate 1 on the 1st floor of the international terminal, open 10:00–19:00. Pick up maps and get help with transit cards there.
